|
|
Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I've visited here (both the board and Sanibel/Captiva!)
I'm excited to say that, barring unforeseen circumstances, I'll be booking a week on North Captiva for mid-July, to celebrate my birthday.
I've never been to North Captiva, and I'm looking forward to all it has to offer. My question is, do you think it's feasible that on one of the days during the week they'll be the option to take a day trip to Captiva? Not a private charter, mind you. In a perfect world, I'd love to get to Captiva in the morning, rent a scooter for 1/2 day and get back to N. Captiva late afternoon. I'd hate to be down there and miss my Schnappers Hots, don'tchaknow.
Thanks! Hope everyone is doing well...

Looks like there are a few options - all require reservations

Captain Charlie Creagh (239) 472-1234 Personal water taxi to and from Four Winds Marina, scheduled to your exact arrival/departure needs. Call to Reserve.
North Captiva Watersports (Captain Steve Ballard) 239-691-2020 Personal water taxi, scheduled to your exact arrival/departure needs. Call to Reserve.
Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina, Captiva Island (239) 472-5800 Personal water taxi to and from Captiva Island, scheduled to your exact arrival/departure needs. Call to Reserve.

Neptunesmuse beat me to my suggestion - call Jensens. They'll pick you up and take you back and in the past they have had the best prices.
Rent a scooter from YOLO in the Village and you're ready to head to Schnappers! _________________ A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes....

Thanks!
I just called Jenson's... it's $225 round trip. Yikes! Since I'll be traveling alone, looks like Schnappers might not be on the agenda for me. *sigh*

Problem solved! I've decided to come down a couple of days earlier and stay in Fort Myers and spend the days on the island visiting my favorite places before heading out to N. Captiva for the week. Schnappers here I come! |

We stay at South seas every year. It is very nice and alot quieter down there. There is alot more to do in Sanibel and we actually like shelling on sanibel better. The water on Captiva tends to be a little more rough and we don't find as many shells. We love the place we stay in and that's why we go back. |

Penguinmoon & Daisy are talking about North Captiva - a whole separate island - not the north end of Captiva. _________________ A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes....

I haven't been up N.Captiva way in quite a few years.
Didn't Charley cut it in half? The southern uninhabited (except for the alligator) protected wild area and the northern inhabited part?
Or did it fill back in? |
