We arrived on Saturday afternoon, April 17, and are staying at Pointe Santo. We had lunch at the Lighthouse Waterfront Restaurant just before the toll bridge to the islands. My husband had the fried grouper sandwich and I had the french dip; both were very good. Our shelling the past week has been pretty slow compared to other visits. However, we have found some nice alphabet cones, one large horse conch, olives, wendletraps and quite a few miniatures. We have eaten at McT's, Green Flash on Captiva, Doc Ford's and Cheeburger, Cheeburger and have enjoyed our meals at each. There were thunderstorms over night and early this morning and we are hoping the shelling will improve in the next few days. There have been a lot of cownose rays in the water along Tarpon Beach and also at Lighthouse beach. Attached are a few photos of shells I have collected so far and a photo of the cownose rays. _________________

Most were to the east of Gulfside Park; we are staying at Pointe Santo and usually walk to the east for several miles each morning and late afternoon.

Keep the reports coming...we just love to hear them! Hopefully after this stormy weather shelling will be awesome! _________________ Traci |
